I kind of felt like doing this meme again, mostly because I went and had a look at the last time for no apparent reason.
Additionally, because I can't help myself when faced with a meme, the results table includes the change in ranking from the last time (with previous results adjusted for equal nth) and the number of comments posted since the 15th of January last year.
Note that this is a purely statistical exercise for fun - numbers of comments and positions on the table are for entertainment purposes only, and aren't at all for dramaunless you actually don't love me anymore.

And there we have it. 16 people moved up one or more places, 7 didn't go anywhere, and there's 21 new entries on the table. 29 people (or, 28 people who still have a LiveJournal) didn't comment at all, and - unsurprisingly - no-one's comment count fell.

Date: 2008-01-13 05:36 am (UTC)A sudden shockwave rocked the ship, throwing Jasper off balance. He put his hands out to catch himself and dropped the bucket of weevils, unfortunately straight back into the open sack of flour, undoing all his hard work. Cursing, he covered the sack over and hurried up to the deck.
The sky had turned a leaden grey while he was in the galley. The captain and her first mate were on the quarterdeck, conversing rapidly in low tones as the crew gathered around them. Captain Nora Talise rarely got distressed about anything, but she looked perturbed now, and even that was enough to make Jasper worry.
Another shockwave sent Jasper to his knees, and more than one of the crew yelled as they went sprawling.
‘Everyone remain calm!’ Captain Talise called out.
‘What’s going on?’ one of the other crewmembers – Jasper couldn’t see who – called back. ‘We’re in open water – what’s striking the ship so?’
The captain just shook her head. ‘Secure the cargo, and for the love of all that floats, mind you’re close to something solid you can grab if we get hit again. There’s a storm brewing, and if anyone goes overboard...’ She didn’t complete the sentence; the waves slapping relentlessly against the ship’s hull did it for her.
