New Serenity icon, and a bit about EllJay

[active_apathy]

The new Serenity icon is green, with bits of black and white. It's River's sleepycodeword, with both spellings lifted from Wikipedia's Serenity entry. The translation, on the other hand, comes from Joss's Q&A session.

And now, the bit about EllJay - which gives me the perfect reason to use this icon.

Well, not quite. This is what my stylesheet looks like at the moment. I'll reproduce it here - but I'm warning you, it's not cut for length.

So, now I get to try to squish my CSS into an allowable size, which may mean I'll need to drop features from my layout. We'll see.

The good news is this: it may give me reason to get around to writing my very own layout. Still, before that day I plan to get this one working again.

I totally didn't know the code word was about making chickens laugh. I didn't even realise it was in russian. Cool!

If you can furnish the appropriate spelling, then I'll post you a cookie*. This is why there's a note about the spellings both coming from Wikipedia.

*Post and cookie may be entirely figurative.

Err... Actually I'm not sure if it's supposed to be курям or курьям... but your one is definitely wrong because it's a hard r. It should be kuryam, not kuram. Kuram sounds like smoking. If you're a redneck. A Russian one I mean. ...by which I mean a Georgian. Okay what the heck, I haven't been to Russian school for a year and a bit, I don't remember anything :P

Well, I asked my dad, and it seems "kuram" is the Odessa pronounciation. So, hey, now you know - it's not just Russian, it's a dialect.

Oh, yes. It's fun the first time. And then the second time, where they use the steel plate.

Less so the third time, with the foam blocks.

By the time they've done it with the layered panes of glass, you're as happy it's over as Adam and Jamie are.

Also, this makes me use the icon again - for it is laughter, and chickens, and absurdity.
