EllJay ate my poll title. It should be: I'm going to pre-order Serenity tomorrow.

[Poll #649111]

It's hot. Also, there's a little fire not so very far away. You know how some people want to see because fire's pretty and the senseless destruction appeals to them? Not me. I found myself walking along, looking at the not-very-distant smoke, and inventing a convoluted plot for a modern-fantasy noir cybercrime technothriller with a delicious pulpy filling.

I'm trying to figure out whether this is a good or a bad sign.

Are you going to share the story? Because then it would be a good sign.

My convuluted plot was eaten by introspective wonderings about my mental state, but I'm sure I can make up something just as insane as the first time.

I'm sure your mental state is fine. At least you weren't looking just for the joy of senseless destruction.

Tickyboxes are fun.

The tin, because Serenity is (seemingly) made of tin (given how often bits fall off) and thus it's Appropriate.

I like swords.

Compressor coil maybe?

I voted for the slipcase, only because it's cheaper. I think the tin will win, though.

I'm not much worried about the individual prices. Either is shiny, but I can't buy both.

In that case, the tin will probably last longer than the slipcase. I have a few DVDs in slipcases and they get ragged pretty quickly, and this is with me being careful of them.

True. And the tin has a River on it!

I went for slipcase, mainly because the minimalism appealed to me. And for some reason I always have misgivings about embossed tin. Though Rivercover would be nice :)

Clearly what the scientists should be working on is getting that fancy cyberpaper working properly. Then we can have as many different DVD covers as we want!

Hee! There's fan covers for the DVDs, but they don't list the Region 4 features and ours is prettier than the US one anyway. The whole slipcase/tin thing is just the icing on a River-shaped cake.

...

which would mean River really was made of chocolate.

Little praline-filled Rivers. Maybe also apple-bit-filled ones...

*head asplode*

Incidentally, this was my favourite fan cover, from - yes - riverismadeofchocolate.

I liked that one, and the Eleventh Hour one. Unsurprising, that, since I like the RPG graphics.

Fire is pretty, but senseless destruction is bad. I prefer my fires to be both pretty and functional.

I mean.. uh... tickyboxes! Also, slipcovers are much more shiny that tins. I find tins to be... tacky. At best.
Plus, I'm a simple design girl at heart.

There is that, but slipcases do have a funny habit of getting themselves somewhat damaged. Maybe I should just find one that comes with a bottle of mudder's milk.
