Secondly, I'm considering starting on writing my very own layout, all by myself, which wil probably recycle the colour scheme and backgrounds from this one. (This, as I may have mentioned, is a slightly-modified version of Flexible Squares). To this end, I want to get started on page layouts, and for this I'm after a good-quality HTML assistant which needs to do the following things:

- Be friendly to writing actual code; WYSIWYG editors irk me
- Preview documents; I know that browsers can do it, but a preview in the same place really does save time
- Play nice with stylesheets
- Be free
- Optionally, validate code
