Firstly, GIP! And it won at icons_at_random, which makes me all kinds of happy. Yay!

Secondly, I'm considering starting on writing my very own layout, all by myself, which wil probably recycle the colour scheme and backgrounds from this one. (This, as I may have mentioned, is a slightly-modified version of Flexible Squares). To this end, I want to get started on page layouts, and for this I'm after a good-quality HTML assistant which needs to do the following things:

• Syntax highlighting
• Be friendly to writing actual code; WYSIWYG editors irk me
• Preview documents; I know that browsers can do it, but a preview in the same place really does save time
• Play nice with stylesheets
• Be free
• Optionally, validate code

If you use (or know of) an HTML assistant that fits these criteria, then I'll be all kinds of happy.

The setting guide is up at apathy_games for those unfamiliar with Firefly; I've just been lazy about putting a notice here. I'm hoping to post a bit more there tonight. Once more, if you plan to play, you should join.

I am woefully ignorant of in-depth coding whatsamajiggers; would Arachnophilia be the sort of thing you're looking for?

And about apathy_games - will there be an opportunity to join later? I've never gotten involved in an RPG before, and right at the moment don't have much time to spare (thesis!), but...it looks kinda interesting! *broad grin*

Sorta, but not quite. The preview thing is kinda important-ish, and Java runs very slowly on my PC.

I just use my high end text editor when doing HTML, so that's no help.

However, I've known many people to recommend Max's HTML Beauty
