No, I don't mean Ron Glass in drag. That would be Very Odd Indeed.

So, yesterday: Finished Neverwhere and read most of Mister Monday. Today saw Grim Tuesday done by lunchtime, and I've managed to slow myself down enough that I'm only halfway through Drowned Wednesday.

I shall call them the Days of the Reluctant Heroes, both of whom would've been quite comfortable to sit it all out with a lovely cup of tea.

Here are my very short non-spoilery commentaries at the moment:

Neverwhere: Inventive, imaginative, dark and amusing. I rather liked it, but that name - Mayhew - seems just a little too hint-like in hindsight.

Keys to the Kingdom: Lovely, inventive, beautifully written, and wonderfully brilliant. A refreshing twist on the ordinary and on conventions of genre, especially the way that Garth plays on seven-item lists.

It's a curious little detail, and possibly entirely accidental. May, as in expression of possibility, and hew, as in cut or chop. I'm not sure how accidental it could be, because when he first slips out of London Above, Jessica calls him Richard Maybury.

Or maybe I just have too much time on my hands. :)
