So, am I the only one who spent the last fifteen minutes refreshing status.livejournal.org over and over and over? Or, for that matter, the four tabs of LJ I had open at the time?
There's a Scorpions album called 'Virgin Killer', the cover art has a naked (but covered) pre-pubescent girl. It's been reported as child porn to a nanny org that the ISPs run alongside the Govt.
One of those "it's for your own good, but we won't tell you what we're doing" jobs. Worse bit is the fake 404 combined with easy to work around if you know what you're doing.
Yup. I'm told you're getting similar soon by law—this is just voluntary, there's a fuss kicking up about it as it's stopping a lot of people (including me) from editing Wikipedia at all, which is annoying (I rarely edit, but I've been planning a set of local articles recently).
It's been done so badly it's devalued the idea at all, which is interesting to see.
And I'm rather hoping otherwise - which seems to mostly mean hanging my hopes on a ZOMGconservative senate. Sadly, there's been a near-total lack of fuss so far.

What could they possibly be getting out of censoring Wikipedia?
