It's amazing how much you can miss something that's only very, very rarely useful, but I feel weirdly satisfied about having just been able to edit a comment so that no-one would ever know that I somehow misspelt 'therein'. When absolute power is mine following the zombie apocalypse, I'll have my secret police go through and exterminate all my typos like that - though under careful watch, lest they try to alter my words to suit their own nefarious purposes.

(Of course, this all rather ruins the effect, but still. Comment editing! Icons! Oh yes indeed, the icons. When absolute power is mine following the zombie apocalypse, I shall have precisely so many icon spaces as I could ever desire. Otherwise, I have mentioned the secret police, yes?)

...it's rather possible I need extensive professional help.

Also! As an alternative to spamming your flists with a second post I'll just do this here, since I've been meaning to borrow the idea from [livejournal.com profile] laurenmitchell for a few days now. So.

Recommend some music! Don't worry about trying to divine my musical tastes; just suggest something. I'll try pretty much anything, so. Suggestions. Many. Here. Please?

(And if there's something that's particularly good, or representative of a band or artist or such, please do point that out as well. It'd be much better than accidentally basing my opinion of an artist on, say, a bootleg recording of a live performance of a B-side that sounds like it was recorded inside a watermelon.)

You mean aside from the Planescape: Torment soundtrack? Here are some recommendations! Most of them are kind of indie. I listen to many other genres, and looove recommending stuff. Links take one to the Wikipedia entry, because.
  • Andrew Bird. Especially Armchair Apocrypha and The Mysterious Production of Eggs.

  • Nouvelle Vague: Nouvelle Vague. Bossa Nova covers of old songs! The cover of 'Too Drunk to Fuck' is HILARIOUS.

  • The Magnetic Fields: 69 Love Songs. Some are hilarious, some are lame, but the hilarious ones are totally worth it.

  • Kate Miller-Heidke. You just want to pick her up and cuddle her!

  • Pink Martini: Every single album they have released ever.

  • The Golden Palominos: Dead Inside. Very, very creepy. Awesome. And creepy.

  • Future Sound of London: Dead Cities. I listen to this when writing dark urban stories. Few lyrics, and very moody.

  • Gregorian. Any of them really. Yay modern songs covered in Gregorian chant! You've probably heard of them already.
  • Deltron 3030: Deltron 3030. Post-apocalyptic hip-hop! Yes, really.
