And in that well-deserved break from Not-Really-National-Write-A-Damned-Report-Day, I've finally, fiiiinally, written that thingy for [livejournal.com profile] shaysdays. My life is now complete, and I could unexist happily. Well, not exactly happily, but less sad about it.

(Except that [livejournal.com profile] goblinpaladin wouldn't ever find out about the dragons. Hmm.)

It's been... too long. It's been nineteen completely different drafts of twenty different stories, none of which are ever, ever, to see the light of day. There is a reason why I do not write sex, and that reason is that I just can't, not without fits of laughter at how monumentally horrific it is. And now, it's over, and it's. Something. I want it to be better, but I also want it to be finished, and I've made my choice on that score.

And it's full of handwaved impossible science, of course. Superluminal time dilation = brain go byebye. For that matter, subluminal time dilation = brain go byebye.

(Bwee! Done!)

It's right next to narrativium on the periodic table, in such a way that Nr decays to Hw.

But that depends on the particular isotope of narrativium. Sure, some narrativium just never decays, and it's malleable enough to be adapted into thousands of other shapes - but then, there's also volatile narrativium with a half-life that's measured in minutes.

If only there were a reliable test to determine which is which...

I wouldn't bother hunting for it, because stuck on Roundworld as we are, there's no way to find it. We act as though it exists, and outside of Roundworld it does, but since we're here and have no way of getting to the Discworld where it does work and exist, we've no way of testing it.

Unless we can prove that narrativium, in any form or isotope, does exist here and that there is a way of testing it.
