- Item: LiveJournal community, new. Further to my last entry, there's a shiny new LJ comm called critique_club. If you wish people would comment on things that you write, this could well be the comm for you.


- Item: format shifting, video. Can any of you furnish links to software and/or instruction relevant to moving video from a DVD to other storage media?


- Item: no third item, actually. Just following the format, because I thought there was something except there actually isn't. Just those two things, and me feeling more tired than I probably should at this hour. So,

I downloaded the limited version of this critter a week or so ago:

and with a little bit of getting-used-to, did manage to extract a segment of a DVD in .avi format.

The trial version is limited to 10 minutes of time, perfect for something like a YouTube app. Not sure if it has an expiry date on the trial.
