So, we know how my phone has weatherporn, right? If not: warning -- scary footnotes.

Today's forecast was for "chance shower/thunderstorm". There was a chance of... what? Shower/thunderstorm?

"The thunderstorm could see from the grass below that the shower was already wet."

"The shower swooned; the thunderstorm smelt so rainy - and the lightning came with that scent of ozone that it loved so very much."

"The wild, frontal wind was a kind of gale-force foreplay, ensnaring the shower's senses and drawing its clouds ever closer."

"'Oh, yes,' moaned the shower. 'Harder. Rip those roofs off for me- yes, oh yes, like that. Oh, OH!'"

(Yes, this is deliberately bad writing. It's kind of my point, really.)

I mean, really. Has thunder suddenly become like a stormy orgasm? Is cloud-to-cloud lightning some new flavour of meteorological fetishism? Is rain really just the pluvial ejaculate of Weather Gone Wild? Do we really want or need the answer to any of these questions?

In short, DEAR METEOROLOGISTS, PLZ TO NOT BE SLASHING MY WEATHER KTHX.

In other news, this is post 396. A quizpost lurks on the horizon, one that I could've prepared for around entry 480 but didn't, because there was still 20 entries to go and as if it'd come that fast. So, there will be writing of questions. And, possibly, entries deliberately spaced out to give me time to write questions for you. While I could decide to have an arbitrary milestone at entry 401, 402, 403 or even 427, I want to have it at 400. And you want it to be there, too.

I... I don't know what to say. I can't believe shower/thunderstorm is canon! I've shipped thunderstorm/gale forEVER, and sun/shower is just so cute. I'm very disappointed in Meteorology, that's such a cop-out.

Sun/shower is cute, yes. Tropical cyclone/jetstream is my weather OTP. I know it's a little odd, but it's obvious that they really love each other so very deeply. And mostly fine/late shower is just far too passive-aggressive for me.

Oh, I know... and everyone always tags it mostly fine/late shower, and then the whole thing is a glorified ode to mostly fine and late showers barely pops in to say "hi honey," or worse, it's a mis-labeled hailstorm/cyclone/apocalypse fic that ought to be rated R.
