A meme, nicked from [profile] djcati

Nov. 4th, 2006 05:54 pm[personal profile] active_apathy
The original meme, near as I can divine, calls for people to guess fandoms from a list of ten summary sentences. [livejournal.com profile] djcati had 19, some of which were fairly cryptic, and not all of which were summaries.

That way seemed fun. There'll be 32 of them, ranging from stuff I like to stuff that provokes all-out fangirlishness. And while they're all references, they aren't necessarily summaries.

So!

  9. Such profanity from a celestial body? Stardust ([livejournal.com profile] deepfishy)

  10. Pandas punctuate poorly. Eats, Shoots and Leaves ([livejournal.com profile] riverchild)

  11. Secretarial harmony. That most evil of law firms. Angel ([livejournal.com profile] raptor_au)

  12. We used to be friends. Veronica Mars ([livejournal.com profile] data_warrior)

  13. Sometimes, you really do need to set a deep hole with spring-loaded sides, tripwires, whirling knife blades driven by water power, broken glass and scorpions. Discworld ([livejournal.com profile] deepfishy)

  14. Always a pleasure. Plus, the people's fame and ovation (forever) sounds like a fun prize. Iron Chef ([livejournal.com profile] abberanteyes)

  15. Reality may need to learn how to handle rejection. Mythbusters ([livejournal.com profile] palmer_kun)

  16. Kill or cure isn't supposed to be taken literally. One case a week: it's canon. House ([livejournal.com profile] riverchild)

Whee, fun meme!

1: I am tempted to say the Cthulhu Mythos (which lj's spellcheck interprets as "Catholic")
4: Jennifer Government
5: Garth Nix's Old Kingdom trilogy
9: Stardust?
13: Discworld
18: the Bartimaeus Trilogy
22: ...The Lord of the Rings?
25: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
26: Dirk Gently :)
30: Coraline

The lines from several others make me want to read, watch, or otherwise partake of them. Thus, good meme!

Whoah. I seem to be late XP 7. made me think of Feet Of Clay, but Discworld's already guessed. Unless you mean pages as in wanna-be squires, in which case does it involve Tamora Pierce? There must have been poison in there somewhere, she's prolific enough.

Date: 2006-11-05 02:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] active-apathy.livejournal.com
I haven't even read any Tamora Pierce. 7's probably a quite tricky one, unless you've already read or seen it.

14) Iron Chef (though, if memory serves me right, it's actually "the people's ovation and fame forever"). Sadly, I lack an Iron Chef icon. This is one of many things I need to remedy when my next year's worth of extra icon slots comes through.
