Prompt: Comfort
Fandom: Wicked: the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
Length: 138 words
Notes: Fairly short, and just a possible interpretation of the effects of the rest of the novel. Astute readers will note this is works out to be the  morning of the day Nessarose gets whapped on the head with a house.

She had everything - a fine home, good clothes, magic and charms and instruments. She had her Sir Chuffrey, and her reputation for good. She had all the money anyone could ever imagine needing. She really did have everything.

There was trade and the relations between Munchkinland and Gillikinese industry, there was her commitment to public good, there was her work to make things better - all fulfilling in their own ways, for both she and her husband.

There were her memories; things both good and bad, things that had worked out for the best so nearly as she could tell.

There was one thing that still eluded her, one thing that the money could never help with. As she prepared for the day's trip to the orphanage - and maybe the game park she'd heard about - she wondered why having everything wasn't ever quite comfortable.
