This one's the survey meme. If you're reading this - devoted reader, occasional reader, ghost writer, ghost of writer, stalker, would-be lover, dry-cleaner, lurker, casual visitor, mortal enemy, carpenter, Wiggle, zombie, pirate, ninja, robot, accountant, lawyer, ticket inspector or otherwise - I'd like for you to fill it out in a comment. If you don't fill it in, then I might just have to go and make a sorbet out of you. So, choose wisely: survey or sorbet. And by 'wisely' I mean 'please don't make me need to clean blood out of my ice cream machine'.

If you fix and repost it, I might pretend it was never broken.

<ol><li>Item the first</li><li>Item the second</li><li>etc.</li></ol>
makes
  1. Item the first
  2. Item the second
  3. etc.

which is an ordered list, into which you can put as many list items as you feel the need to have (or, in reality, as many as the browser supports before doing strange things). For lists without numbers, there's also the unordered list, which uses the <ul>...</ul> tags.

There's also definition lists, but they're a little bit trickier. They let you make lists that look a bit like
term
definition

and are coded like

<dl><dt>term</dt><dd>definition</dd></dl>

Thanks, but I've already deleted the original comment, and I'm panicking right now because I really shouldn't have forgotten this. As in, my memory loss should not be progressing to everyday stuff. This is very bad.

I'll just...go act like a complete deadhead somewhere else. Sorry.

What I do is copy, paste into a new post in the Rich Text editor, View Source, and copy/paste into comment text.

Then I add other formatting tags where appropriate to make it look nice and pretentious.
