Today was fun.

Well, somewhat fun.

Or maybe just occasionally interesting.

Or intermittently caffeinated.

Next week, it looks to be that we'll be learning about fixing damaged books. For those who don't have damaged books to take from home, supplied for learning purposes will be a multitude of beaten and battered volumes of Library of Congress subject headings. Given that the number of damaged items in my collection of books is, at present, none whatsoever, this means one of two things.

(a) I go next week, and learn stuff by fixing books of subject headings.

(b) I buy a secondhand book by one of Anne Rice, Robert Jordan, or Dan Brown, attack it, whap it against things, beat it (back) to a pulp, dispose of it as an example of a book so damaged that it's not worth fixing, and then go back to (a).

(a) and (b) offer equal amounts of learning. (a) is slightly cheaper, but (b) offers great opportunities for stress relief. (a) will happen either way, whereas (b) can be done anytime. Everything is supplied for (a), no equipment is required for (b). Option (a) will see my talents admired by many students to come, whereas (b) makes a poor substitute for doing similar to the 'author'.

Obviously, this is a difficult decision. Discuss.

It's important to relieve stress, you know.

Option b) also has the advantage that, say, if you do that to a Dan Brown book, we'll get to vicariously feel the satisfaction through your destroying report.

Just sayin'.

b) Though go with Rice and watch your classmates closely to figure who may live when the revolution comes.

Choose b! Choose b! Choose b!

(I have a Robert Jordan book I could donate! Yes, yes, I know, I know. But it was a present, okay? I did manage to get through it due to supreme strength of character and/or my inability to stop reading a book halfway through.

Except I live Very Far Away. And would have no way of getting it to you. But I could um scan the cover?)
