Here we have the Eeeend of the Woooorrrld End of the Year meme, via [livejournal.com profile] liadlaith, against whom you will never, ever win the Question Game.

  1.  What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
    I swore in Mandarin!

    ...

Any parents reading this, I'm really not a good example for your children.

  2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I made a New Years' resolution to never make New Years' resolutions. The jury's still out on whether or not that one's been kept.

  3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
OMG! The strangest thing happened on the bus last week and... NO!

  4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year, nor any other. People close to me seem to live forever.

  5. What countries did you visit?
    None I can think of.

  6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Let's start with paid employment and work from there, shall we?

  7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The 29th of September was an auspicious day. A proud day for all the Australian members of the Firefly fandom. Serenity day! The end of the Fox scumbags and the dawn of more Big Damn Heroics! Yeah!

  8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I got quoted! Yay! *bounces happily*

  9. What was your biggest failure?
It was supposed to be a nice, big chocolate cake. It wasn't to be. Woe!

  10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was coughing and sneezing for what seemed like days, earlier in the year.

  11. What was the best thing you bought?
    The Firefly DVDs.

  12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My two pretty pretty dogs, who are always there whenever I need someone to love me and hug me and decorate my clothes with pawprints.

If it has to be people, then everyone who's done something - anything - to help make me all happy and such. Yay for all of you.

  13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Lots of people, but you don't want me to be appalled and depressed right now so I'm not talking about them.

  14. Where did most of your money go?
Far, far away. Books, foostuffs and basic needs immediately leap to mind.

  15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Lots and lots and lots and lots of things. And then some more things. And another couple of things. And a list of other stuff as long as my leg. And eleventy billion other things.

  16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
Probably none of them, actually. There's quite a few songs that remind me of many things - people, places, things, events, but never years.

  17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

    1. Happier or sadder?
Sometimes I'm sadder, but mostly I'm happier. There's a lot of people who are responsible for that; some of them are reading this, some of them don't even know they've done it, and some fit into both categories.
    2. Thinner or fatter?
I weigh about 4-5kg more than at this time last year, but I'm no bigger.
    3. Richer or poorer?
      Poorer.

  18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Offhand, there's not much I can think of for this.

  19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Letting a certain person who shall remain unnamed do hurtful things to me.

  20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With family, most like, complaining about how hot it is.

  21. Did you fall in love in 2005?
With real-world people? No. With e-people? Some, in almost as many different ways. I suspect most know who they are.

  22. 22? WTF?
There wasn't actually a 22 in the original meme. Yay counting!

  23. How many one-night stands?
    None at all. Yay me!

  24. What was your favourite TV program?
My single favourite bit of TV programming all year was when the ABC (international readers, that's the Australian Broadcasting Corporation) had a Wednesday lineup of Spicks & Specks, Black Books, The Glass House and At The Movies. Much yay-ness!

  25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hating someone's a hell of a lot of effort to waste on people that you don't like, so no.

  26. What was the best book you read?
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. Other books that I quite enjoyed include Across the Wall: Tales From the Old Kingdom and Elsewhere, and Talk to the Hand: The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door.

  27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
[livejournal.com profile] lesslikeyou's run of Fiona Apple songs attached to entries caught my interest, [livejournal.com profile] daphyn supplied a goodly dose of Idina Menzel, [livejournal.com profile] nyctanessa suggested Nightwish, and random chance led from there to Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation and Blackmore's Night.

  28. What did you want and get?
More things than can be comfortably accomodated by my skills at counting or the lifespan of my keyboard.

  29. What did you want and not get?
A pony and a plastic rocket.

  30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Serenity, without a doubt. I've liked other films, but none of the others have been quite so good at making me laugh and cry and squee and smile and then want to go right back in and do it all again.

  31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
It hasn't happened yet. Hopefully, it'll be a day marked by an utter lack of fuss and bother.

  32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
    I haven't a clue.

  33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Indecent exposure is bad. Clothes are good. Warm is also good. It's summer now, why isn't it properly warm yet?

  34. What kept you sane?
Whatever it was, it didn't work. I want my money back!

  35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I'm really not much for fancying public figures, so not a clue, really.

  36. What political issue stirred you the most?
    The 'Liberal' Party Agenda '05.

  37. Who did you miss?
    Many people, at different times.

  38. Who was the best new person you met?
The best new person I met all year is you.

  39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
Using shampoo as bubble bath can, if unsupervised, make the most incredble amount of bubbles.

  40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Just one? I'm fairly certain that's just not going to happen.

I know I for one would have had a less interesting 2005 without you in it.
