Firstly, twelve of River! And Simon's still not talking to Miranda.

It occurs to me that I may get a little two excited about some things. At least one of my flistees has just posted her thousandth entry, while another thinks he'll get to 1000 before the year's out. This, on its own, seems like an unexceptional little detail. My point is that they barely seem to notice it - it's a matter of "1000 entries! Yey!"

So, you might wonder, where am I going with this? Well, dear readers, it seems that I do indeed get slightly overexcited. Just look a couple of days back, to me going "OMGYAY! 200 POSTS! LET'S PLAY A GAAAME!" If tradition's anything to go by, it'll happen for 250 posts, too. And 300. And 350. And I'll probably bounce up and down and overdose on excitement for 500 posts while everyone else in the whole entire universe is busily looking the other way and saying "2000 entries. Meh."

Maybe I'm doing this whole journal thing wrong, and need to develop some stylish indifference.

...

Bah. Stylish indifference just isn't my thing.

Anyway! As you may have guessed, the aforementioned two hundredth entry contained a game. A game that looks suspiciously like a music!quiz. According to the poll I took yesterday, an overwhelming majority of people who actually answered the question wanted to know what the other three answers were. So!

Twelve gave us the lines:
The valley green was so serene
In the middle ran a stream so blue

They come from the start of Ghost of a Rose, by Blackmore's Night.

Fourteen opens thus:
Well alright, so I'm being foolish
Well alright, let people know
About the dreams and wishes you wish
In the night when the lights are low

By Santana, the song is titled Well Alright.

And sixteen?
Livin' easy, lovin' free,
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Askin' nothin', leave me be,
Takin' everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme,
Ain't nothin' I would rather do
Goin' down, party time,
My friends are gonna be there, too
Yeah...

From AC/DC's album Highway to Hell, this is the entire first verse of the title track, Highway to Hell.

Moving on to news from today, Montie went for a visit to the vet seeing as how he's starting to get on in years and he's a bit slow in the mornings. He's gained about half a kilogram since his last visit, and is in very good health. The vet said, quote, "His heart sounds good between growls." His cataracts aren't horribly bad, either; this is partly owing to poodles getting different cataracts to other dogs, and means that things only get fuzzy for him up close. Also, he needs slightly more calories in his diet, but that's easily done.

He took a bit of a liking to a German Shepherd on the way out. It may have helped that she was on the other side of the room. :)

Whatever you lack in quantity, you make up for in quality.

Don't think for a moment I thought on my own to check my entry count, much less make a ::yawn:: cybery-big deal out of it.

Now go request something.

I'll request something here. I want you to find your very favourite thing said anywhere on elljay ever, and post either it, or a link to it if it's too big, with some kind of explanation of why it's your favourite thing said on elljay ever. LJseek and Google blogsearch may well be your very best friends in doing this.

Blarg. I would've guessed Highway to Hell except that I can't understand a gorram word he says.

Also, my lack of excitement over 1000 entries was more due to OMGTIRED than anything else. I have plans for a fairly interesting 1013th entry, a number that will be familiar to X-Files fans...

That's part of why the whole first verse was there. *nods some* Maybe a picture of Angus would've helped.

OMGTIRED is a dangerous, dangerous thing, when it comes to excitement. It drowns 'Yay!' under vast amounts of 'Sleeeeeeeeepyyyyyyy'.

Also, yay for 1013.

I thought that AC/DC one sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure it out.

I keep forgetting to check my post count, but if I did check it, I would do stuff to celebrate every...100? Definitely 100. It's more fun that way! :)

OMGWTFpostcount? Is there something wrong with getting excited about every fiftieth entry? :)

Truth be told, I'm rather surprised that it went unanswered. Maybe T.N.T. or It's A Long Way To The Top would've been better.

Well, I say the more celebration the better, really. The world would be a happier place if we celebrated things more. And honestly, I'm just too lazy to think up special things for my "milestone" posts, which is why it doesn't occur to me to check how many posts I've made. Except now I've checked, and apparently I've made it to 158.
