I have no music just at the moment, for I have 740 MP3s which need their metadata fixed before I can get Winamp to rescan my music directory so I can listen. Woe!

...

Except that I'm doing all this in iTunes. Which plays music. *facepalm*

Why did I not see this sooner?

I used to sort it how and where I wanted it, until I realised that there was no way I eas ever going to get it all how and where I wanted it without serious, automated help.

This could be because prodding files about the place the old fashioned way makes me so mind-numbingly bored I'd much prefer to be playing Minesweeper.

I have huge piles of files but it doesn't bore me much, mostly because I spent the time to set up a fairly good filing system.

Everything new goes into one folder, and then gets a listen and then sorted. Takes almost no time, so it doesn't get boring.

I was lazy, so it's time to edit metadata, especially to add album and track information.
