Here we have a couple of poll-memes. The first one is pretty self explanatory, and cometh via [livejournal.com profile] hestia. If you run out of space... bah. I made it as big as LJ allows.

The second is to google "$YOUR_NAME needs" [with quotation marks], then put the first 10 things you find into a poll. Mine has 25 things, because this is me and I do things like that, and they're tickyboxes so that you can pick them all if you're feeling really bored, and this bit on the end adds no new information but makes the sentence really very long - maybe even too long, but then you know what some people are like, such as one classics lecturer I had who took one mark off my essay for a split infinitive and another 24 for the late penalty, who probably writes sentences just as long to act all scholarly but likely hates reading them because there's really a lot to take in when someone writes such a long sentence where it might actually contain substantive content. Um... anyway, this meme's from all kinds of folk.

If you're spoiler-sensitive for Serenity, and haven't yet seen it... GO THIS WEEKEND. This weekend is crucial to keeping our Big Damn Movie on as many screens as possible.

And there's dialogue spoilerism and a subtle bit of plot spoilerism behind the cut.

Did I just have a conversation with myself through ticky-box options? I did. I had a whole dialogue going...

This must be what going mad feels like.

Nice way of making your readers miss the movie and want to see it yet again.

I still have to see A History of Violence, *mutter*it.

Every screening for every viewer is a dollar or two closer to seeing more of the 'Verse. :)

You know, I tried doing that meme with my real name, and came up with nothing. Not a single result. I'm still trying to figure out what that means...

From: [identity profile] active-apathy.livejournal.com
It probably means that your name is suitably rare amongst 'netfolk that the exact phrase "$YOUR_NAME needs" doesn't turn up on any page that Google has indexed.

Or you've reached enlightenment and no longer have any needs... in which case you've likely fallen off the edge of one system of beliefs and landed on top of another.

Or I have so many needs that I broke Google, and it turned up nothing. I think this is the most likely.

[livejournal.com profile] leila82 needs for Google to not break.

I don't have any needs either... either using my real name or my furry/online name :/

Whee!! But *pout* because it's not actually showing up on Google. Yes, I am pathetic, I actually checked.

I can't create polls, not having a paid account, but apparently I need:
  • all our help and support right now
  • to make her idea for the new route for the container
  • TO BE SHOT!!!!!!!
  • to get the boss's approval for everything
  • someone to turn to
  • to be loved by herself
  • to agree to be on time for some things, too
  • the information on the current choir, band and art department by November 7th
  • to be in two places at once
  • assistance at all times

Heh, I did that meme on my journal. Half of them seemed to refer to either Maggie Gyllenhaal or a small dog.

PS: apparantly you can't do strike-outs in poll answers. Go figure?

Do you have the boss's approval to love yourself with assistance in two places at once?

[livejournal.com profile] maggiebloome needs to stop chasing her own tail.

You can edit poll answers, if you like. You can't HTML at all in textbox answers.

My sister's going to see the movie with five of her friends this week, so that's a little bit, at least.
I have a feeling that while it's not doing well initially, as long as word-of-mouth prevails, Serenity should definetly linger.

I don't even want the boss thinking about me that way.

...the co-worker next to me, on the other hand...... sure.

The cinema nearest me's still running 28 BDM screenings each week, which is quite pleasant to note. So long as we can keep the word spreading - so long as they can't stop the signal - we can keep Serenity on cinema screens. With luck, it may even turn a profit before the DVDs sell.

The co-worker can be the assistance, if you'd like.

There seems to have been a knock-on effect from all this Serenity: I tried to buy the Firefly DVD set yesterday (and the day before), but every store I went to had sold out, and had more on order, and wished they had some now because of the lost sales.

There was no shiny to take home, but I was strangely pleased.

So, a lot more use than most bosses.

Wanna come here and be President? I mean, our Constitution's already been violated more than a Japanese schoolgirl in a room full of tentacle monsters...

Hullo - I'm interested in the Firefly/Serenity RPG you're in the process of making, but I can't seem to find anything on how to create a character. Any assistance you can lend would be much appreciated.

Cheerio!

You need to join to read the post. If you're interested in playing, then sign up and I'll approve you for the comm. We need a character that's good in a fight - kinda like Zoe and Jayne are on Serenity.

Also, it's already been made. We're using the actual Serenity RPG.

I worked up a rough character design last night before I received this comment, but I'll go ahead and make a fighter design. Can I send you both summaries so you can decide which one I should finalize?

Um... no, not exactly. Go and have a look at the character creation post, have a look at how things work, and then send them. (or comment with them in any post of mine you feel like)

Took a look at the character creation guidelines. I'm very sorry to say after all this bother - you've been wonderfully kind - but I'm going to have to pass on account of not being too big on dice. Looks like a good crew you've got so far, though!

Notion was I'd deal with all that, all quiet-like, but it's shiny if that's not your thing.

There just happens to be a systemless Firefly RP starting up, though - and there's places aplenty open. It'd be really, really good if you were looking to play a pilot.
