Firstly: My layout has evolved a step further, with some new links in my link list. That'd normally be nothing special, but the link list now displays in the same way as the tag list - that is, a hierarchical menu (though this one doesn't recurse infininitely like the tags could).

Secondly: My journal now has 78 readers (who admit to it). I have 39 journals friended; hence, this makes for the arbitrary milestone of being friended by twice as many people as I have friended. Yay!

This is where the stalkers come in. I'd like to add more reading to my friends page - mingle more with the electronic unwashed, as it were. This is because I think it'd be fun to do so. To this end, if you are a stalker but would bounce and jump and squeeeeee like it if I read your journal, then tell me so here. If you want, you can even add a reason. Exciting, funny reasons score bonus points.

While it would be nice to have an LJ celebrity reading my journal, the sad fact it that it is intensely dull, containing mostly rants about my job or random snippets of my (not very interesting) life. And I update on an extremely infrequent and irregular basis.

So is that your way of saying 'friend me!' or 'run awaaaaaaaay!'?

Date: 2005-09-14 06:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mrpyro.livejournal.com
You know what? I'm not entirely sure myself :).

I think it's "friend me, please, but don't blame me when you don't like it, because I gave you fair warning."

On an entirely unrelated note, I have now read the first two Serenity comics. Want film now, dammit!

Sounds workable. *clicks*

No Serenity comics for me. I do, however, have plans to buy the RPG.

Date: 2005-09-14 06:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mrpyro.livejournal.com
Woohoo!

The RPG is tempting, but the GM of my acquaintance who I'd really like to run it is already running several games (he's a big fan of the series and a really good GM; we've just finished a Star Wars/Battlestar Galactica crossover game which was great fun), so probably wouldn't want to run it.

It's also a completely new system, especially designed by (I think) Tracy Hickman. That, too, makes me want to buy it - I can reverse engineer bits and transplant them into other games.

Date: 2005-09-14 07:18 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mrpyro.livejournal.com
It's Magaret Weis Enterprises releasing it, so Tracy Hickman may have benn involved somewhere (since they've been known to collaborate every now and then :) ).

A quick hunt on the interwebs has discovered a bit about it: apparently based on the Sovereign Stone system (which itself is descended from Alternity, or so somebody said on a forum somewhere). Which is weird, because I was thinking the other day that you could probably do a reasonable version of it using Alternity.

Date: 2005-09-14 07:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] active-apathy.livejournal.com
Do I take this to mean that Sovereign Stone uses a real system, and not a WtC feat (*cough*) of marketing?

Date: 2005-09-14 07:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mrpyro.livejournal.com
I cannot speak definitively, having never played using Sovereign Stone, but it pre-dates the system that you are referring to.

Alternity was TSR trying to do sci-fi: a lot of people I know slated it, but more for a couple of specific flaws, rather than an overall problem with the system. I personally quite liked it.

This forum thread is the current source of my information.

Apparently our local comic book store didn't get the full order they'd asked for, and they sold out quickly.

They're getting a re-stock of issue #3 some time this week.

I don't even use moods. I sometimes set music. I've only just started using tags, and that's only because I have a shiny taglist.

That's what I meant (about moods). I rarely use the music choice too.

Annoying rants about politicians and issues in a place you don't live?

Attempted humorous riffs on issues of the day based on songs and other references you've never heard of?

WWWWWWWWWTMI about six animals who, each morning, hold a meeting and decide to let the humans live?

C'mon over. Everything's waiting for you.

(And that Jolt vending machine from the basement of 150 Linden Oaks? Still reassembling it in my cellar and it's yours as soon as I can (a) figure out how to ship it and (b) alter it so you won't need to use American quarters.)

Sometimes, when I am not subsisting entirely on crackers and Aquafina, nursing a bruise from a Labrador with a nasty left hook, I post mildly interesting stuff.

The rest of the time, I just stalk interesting journals.

Well, I like to think of myself as an er, aspiring wit. That is, I generally write funny things in my journal. I'm not sure how funny they are from others perspective, but so far I have three stalkers and one friend On The Outside, as it were, who just reads my eljay and sternly resists all efforts to get him to write in his own.

I swear I usually have a lower meme ratio on my lj, but I'm currently working on my honours year thesis, due at the end of October. It has werewolves, which means it has infection and dichotomy and menstruation. Such is the life of a cultural studies student...

What can you expect after October? Random thoughts, and cooking and reading and writing, and maybe even some photography. Also featuring the occasional whippet!
