A Quick Couple of Things

People interested in playing Lexicon:

I've cleaned up apathy_games for the most part, so, if you're interested in playing, feel free to wander over and join. The genre at the moment seems to be leaning toward some kind of blend of fantasy, steampunk, new weird, and maybe a couple of other things, but it is subject to change until people are happy with it.

I think we'll probably move most of the planning-type stuff there, too, instead of the current cross-post system we seem to be using.

Non-Windows people who wanted to do the comment stats meme:

There's a working online version of it here. It won't let you exclude your own comments and doesn't stop at 100, but, on the plus side, you don't have to even think about touching Windows.


Australian flist people who have televisions:

Burn Notice starts at 8:30 9:30 tonight on Ten. Watch it, for it is good. Then, after, make stabby motions at pretend programming executives who make last-minute changes to timeslots.

(Or, if you'd rather not see it on evil commercial TV, find a copy from the Alternative Source™ of your choice and watch it that way, for it is good.)

Oh oh and, I was in a hurry when you posted the Lexicon poll but now I have read the comments and, coincidentally, a book of Mieville stories, and heartily approve. We seem to be heading in a Tlon-ish direction. ^_^

Also I would be greatly amused by the Upper Squibulon Council's academic squabbling (is the name coincidental?) so - shall we have a discussion page as per wikipedia or is that too much trouble? You've mentioned that interpretation can vary, so I think we should be able to argue over it "in character" as it were. Can we edit our own entries? Other people's? By mutual consent/majority vote?

You suggested Borges; from what I hear, VanderMeer writes a bit like Borges, so the New Weird thing seems to cover it. And, I think, to suit you fairly well.

We could! It'd be extra-credit fun, I imagine. (And, no; the name was semi-random.)

Edits... we'll look into that later, I think; a game should run about 13 weeks, so we'll get many opportunities to try new things.
