Dear, um, you1,
Merry Christmas / Xmas / Xmas Substitute / I Can't Believe It's Not Xmas / Other.
Love,

Also, this xkcd comic, it speaks truth.

 1. That link will only work properly from your friends page, but I'm still kind of geekily proud of it. Hooray!

Xmas starting 11 hours before us civilised folks is CHEATING damnit.

But, y'know, happy wossname anyway. Sir Isaac's birthday starts early in Aus.

Well, kind of. It may or may not seem more unfair in a week, though. :D

Happy Day Off Work, but is it worth the suffering that came beforehand? I think perhaps not!

It depends! I rather hope it does turn out to be worth it, though I do pity retail employees for tomorrow. (And for yesterday. And for the last month or so.)

As a sort-of retail employee (I work in the office but go do the retailing in busy times) I accept your pity with gratitude and rub it on my aching feet.

*is suitably impressed by self-linkness*

It's so much easier to stay up for Christmas after a few years' studenting starts playing the bongos over your circadian rhythm :).

Happy Wossboss to you, too!

It's daytime somewhere, right?

Yes, but only in places where it's still yesterday.

I've got to ask how you did that link thing.

xkcd always speaks the truth. Unless it's talking about cake. The cake is a lie.

The source for that link tag is ... - the ../ refers to the parent directory, like using cd .. on a command line. So, from http://username.livejournal.com/friends the browser reads the relative URL as a link to http://username.livejournal.com/friends/../profile, which it knows it can simplify to http://username.livejournal.com/profile.

It came from one of those "I wonder if that would work..." kind of moments.

Argh! Now I have Fabio in my head intoning "I Can't Believe it's Not Christmas... Spray!"

(A commercial here in the US, it's probably somewhere in the intertoobs if you look hard enough.)

Eek; sorry. :|

(I don't think I will; the idea seems vaguely horrifying.)
