The R.O.U.S.s, let me show you them. (Link found via

Hooray! I can has Wii!
If there's one thing I've learned from today, it's this: there is a Very Good Reason why the Wii is about the size and colour of a crack rock. And where once gamers might've been at risk from Nintendo Thumb, the risk here seems to be Nintedo Elbow, Nintendo Shoulder, and - if you're really getting into it - Nintendo Foot.
On the other hand, it's maddeningly fun. Whee! Run, little Mii! Hit the ball! Yay! (No, don't fall over, run faster, there! Woo! OUT? WHAT?! Hee! They flail their racquets in synch with Wiimote flailing!)
I foresee this machine slaying me with cute. Or with limbs falling off. Now all I need is Twilight Princess and a foam sword...
(and maybe some replacement limbs)
And just to let you know how truly weird my mind can be sometimes, when I was brushing my teeth this morning my brain came up with the idea of calling in plague-ridden.
And then the thought of doing so in 14th century London.
And that's about it for now.
Also, ow, my arms.

"O my," my fictional purveyor of mistruth might have said; "perchance I imbibed last night somewhat too much of the good publican's finest." (...my fictional purveyor of mistruth was generally described by fictional neighbours as speaking a little strangely.) "Mayhap, this day I should stay within my home, better to rest and restore my head to a state more seemly."
"Lo! A messenger," the fictional purveyor of mistruth might then say. "Might I impress upon you to deliver unto my employer a declaration. For it doth seem, this day, that I do feel a little spot of plague coming on, so I should very much like to rest it off, and to not spread it around my colleagues. O, and messenger, do take care to play at a cough as you deliver my message, for it may better convince my employer of the gravest severity that is my plight."
And that's about it for now.
Also, ow, my arms.

Date: 2007-12-18 02:38 pm (UTC)...I think I addressed the need for Zelda somewhere in the post. :D
And, ow. I don't think I've ever done that, though I have had interesting DS stylus impressions in my fingers from time to time.

Date: 2007-12-18 02:46 pm (UTC)And yes, you did, I'm reiterating it XD
Heehee XD Yes, it's not gaming unless it requires BANDAIDS! :D

Date: 2007-12-18 02:51 pm (UTC)Well, ok then! *writes 'GET ZELDA' in big letters on something*
Hee! It's all fun and games until someone's thumb needs a bandaid... and then it's fun and games with less tactition.

Date: 2007-12-18 02:36 pm (UTC)I've been attempting to play through Final Fantasy 12, which is either the most boring Final Fantasy game I've ever played, or it just takes *FOREVER* to really get going.
I'm ten hours in. I'm in the Barheim Passage.

Date: 2007-12-18 02:42 pm (UTC)Hmm. I really couldn't say, being a non-FF person, but ten hours is a slower start than I'd imagine as at all possible.

Date: 2007-12-19 12:49 am (UTC)14th century call-in to work...
Date: 2007-12-18 05:18 pm (UTC)That is fabu. I shall add it to my list. It is right next to my all time personal favorite work excuse, "My mother-in-law has come back as one of the Undead and we must track her to her coffin to drive a stake through her heart and give her eternal peace. One day should do it."

Date: 2007-12-18 05:47 pm (UTC)Zelda's not the only game you need. Super Paper Mario is filled with a whole bunch of in-jokes that will keep old-school types laughing the whole way through, Metroid Prime: Corruption is totally freakin' awesome, and from what I've played of Super Mario Galaxy, it too is going to be ftw. Third parties haven't quite caught up with the Wii, though, which is somewhat sad. However, I have heard rumors of a Trauma Center sequel that will probably be as cracktastic as the first.
Also, don't forget the Virtual Console. They've already got some of the greatest games of history on that thing.

Date: 2007-12-19 12:34 am (UTC)Also, Trauma Center: New Blood was apparently released a month ago in the US.

Date: 2007-12-19 01:10 am (UTC)Zelda is always there. The only home console game not playable on the Wii yet is Majora's Mask.
