Um, hello! Here's what my posts look like when I don't have much to post about - kinda rambling and trivial and stuff. There's not even a meme to save it just at the moment.

So, news. I baked cookies. This isn't a subtle ad for [livejournal.com profile] cookielist, it's just plain and simple fact. They're chocolate chocolate chip cookies, in itself odd since normal chocolate chip cookies were accidentally discovered by someone using little bits of real chocolate to try to make normal chocolate cookies. But they're chocolate, and they're tasty, and they're so maddeningly addictive I might as well just bake hash cookies.

My country, the wonderfully named Rogue Nation of New Nowhereland has turned itself into a left-leaning college state, which apparently means that the people run free without the economy collapsing. I'm not sure how the name works, since every student I've ever met is a collapsed economy. (Should you start playing, or go back after months of forgetting it ever existed, then feel free to move to Blue Sun. We even have an LJ comm.)

And I think that's about it for the moment. Oh, and, note to self: Stop chewing on brush pen. It's full of reasonably runny waterfast black ink. Well... presumably. I'm hoping not to find out just what's inside it.

COOKIES!!!!! I think my mother is going to the store today, I shall have to add that to the list. Wow, I am actually drooling now. Must find a bucket...

Or you could add things like chocolate chips and cocoa (assuming you have things like flour and eggs), and then you can eat bits of the dough while enjoying the scent of baking cookies.

Not that I've ever done it. No, not at all. Not ever... well, not every time. Ok, every time. ._.

I wish I could, but I think we're on a tight budget until my stepdad sends us some money. He's out of town working, you see. So it would probably just be cheaper to buy the already baked ones. STILL! It's cookies, so I ain't complaining.

I think we have a box of brownie mix in the cabinet though. muwaha!>:O

Oh. Usually the most I need to go out of my way to buy is the chocolate chips; a bag of dark chocolate chips costs me a bit shy of $AU4.00, and would be good for two or three fairly large batches of cookies if I didn't eat the leftover ones.

I'd probably eat the whole bag before we got to the baking.

I refuse to open them until it's time to add them. The danger of using the 20% cocoa ones is that I feel the need to test a handful first. And then after. And then an hour later, and five minutes after that, and before you know it I'm just eating chocolate chips in front of the TV.

At this point I just want some chocolate, whether it comes in cookies or not.

I have a feeling that comment's almost exactly what my autobiography will look like.

Or, at least, it can be the title.

Will I get a royalty check, then?

Either that, or chocolate in cookie form.

That's cool with me, now get writing!

My nationstate Shaendaena is in Blue Sun, even though I know nothing about to what the reference 'Blue Sun' refers.

*looks at last sentence* Nor, apparently, do I know what grammar is. What did I just say?

It's from Firefly. On the 29th of September, you must go and watch Serenity.

Ahhh. Okay. I must learn more about this.

Hello! *waves*

I've seen you around [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes and enjoy your writing a lot, so I'd like to add you, if that's okay? *bats eyelashes*

*blink* I post utter nonsense and someone wants to friend me? There's dedication and a half. And a quarter. And maybe a few thirty-seconds.

Oh! *waves* An answer! It's perfectly ok, and I'll even return the gesture.

Whee!

Heh, utter nonsense to some, philosophical meanderings to others. It's universal law that no writer is ever in a position to judge their own writing. So there.

Likening students to collapsed formerly socialist transition economies doesn't sound much like philosophical meandering to me, though. *shrugs*

Aaanyway, hello and welcome!

Ah, it's just an LJ tradition, I think. It seems to be always those mundane entries where the friending happens, in my experience. Maybe because in the ones where you're really taking things on you're so frightneningly clever, it's intimidating. ;p

It's not that scary, is it?

...

Is that why no-one seems to comment usually?

From: [identity profile] riverchild.livejournal.com
Hm. Let me get back to you on that in a few weeks of not commenting for that very reason.

I have cookies at home that I may just have to bake today because of you.

Ink poisoning would be icky. Plus, black teeth? Never cute.

I had flour and sugar and butter and cocoa and chocolate chips and a very similar conversation minutes ago.

Ink poisoning: bad. Black teeth: also bad. I've stopped chewing on it now - partly because I'd like to keep it in working order. It's fun to use.

Ooooh... I want cookies now. I may just have to make some. And it'll be all your fault, I hope you know.

Rar! My homophones are broken. Grrr.

No-one wanted cookies until after I baked them, which is probably more to do with posting it on LJ. I do still wonder if this happens with other foodstuffs; the coffee mousse and tiramisu remain possible test subjects, but I know I couldn't be arsed with choux pastry either.

I blame the fact that it should be bedtime.

It should not be bedtime here. It should be lunchtime. And I'm hungry and I want cooooooooookiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Here it is ten minutes to three, anno meridiem. That makes it close to bedtime, though I might sneak a cookie.

Date: 2005-06-16 09:49 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] theshadowlurker.livejournal.com
Well here it is eleven minutes to one PM and I don't know what that means so you're going to have to deal with the abbreviation.

From: [identity profile] active-apathy.livejournal.com
Ante meridiem, even. See? Sleepy. Off to bed. Goodnight. *random hug*

Good night. *random hug back*

*is hugged* Hee!

And now I've found the right word, and before my tired brain kills another innocent expression, ante meridiem means 'before the middle of the day' - hence one minute past twelve midday is post meridiem, since it comes after the middle of the day.

And now, sleep. I mean it this time.

I demand chocolate. Hand over the biscuits and no one gets hurt.

In NationStates news:

Werriwa's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region,

FUCKING SCORE! ^_^

Try to take the biscuits, and someone will get hurt. Odds are, that someone isn't me. You could bake your own, or buy some, or sonething like that.

In NS news:
[In New Nowhereland] a nation-wide cull of critter-thingys is in effect, euthanasia is legal, and high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate.
Looks like I have to stop picking on your economy now. The good news is that the average tax rate is a scant 25%, which means the poor folk are paying quite low taxes.

Word. I'm still trying to get back to Left-Wing Utopia, myself...

I'm not trying so much for a specific type as keeping a goodly bit of social freedom and a functioning economy.

Yes, but Left-Wing Utopia has all three fairly high, as opposed to two high and one loooow...

That's fairly true. Still, you've got to be happy with your foul-mouthed kiddies.
