I haven't updated in a few days. Oops.

So! What's newsish in the land of me? Firstly, [livejournal.com profile] nomicide seems to be plodding along reasonably nicely. Newcomers can join whenever they feel like it, but membership is going to change to moderated in 20 hours or so. Which, effectively, means you can join whenever you want, but if you wait you can make me click a button.

In other news, I've been playing more Trauma Center, and finally getting back to playing my way through the plot. And, well, I hate the Paraskevi, and the Savato annoys me, and the archetype Kyriaki kills patients faster than I can keep them alive. Which is, of course, bad, and makes me wish for the tumours and valve replacements and glass shards from earlier in the game. My EXTREME SURGERY! valve replacement takes just over 40 seconds now.

Which sounds good, until you get people who do the Triti surgeries like this. Le eek.

And because everyone else has one...

Man, I have a hard time with Triti. Of course, I'm playing the Wii version, and the controls are a bit different, so double-teaming with styli is just not going to work. The Paraskevi and Savato just take a freakin' lot of laser use, which isn't that hard with the IR sensor, but moving quickly with the forceps is just pain. And trying to defuse the bomb is also quite interesting.

Right now, I'm having problems with one of the surgeries in level 6 wherein things move too fast and if the patient's vitals go below 30, there's no saving him.

First Sin is making me sad at the moment; it's Kyriaki on crack, and I can barely slay the first two before the victim patient dies.

The problem with the Paraskevi, for me, is that it's a bit tricky to keep it still while keeping the vitals up; that there's two shiny new lacerations every time you cut it doesn't help at all. The Savato isn't that bad, but the first two attempts, I lost the patient after about seven minutes.

How is it to cut with the wiimote? It's fantastically easy on the DS, but I'd be interested to see if the IR sensor makes it harder for surgeries like the valve replacement or the pulmonary edema (or even for excising Kyriaki).

Generally, cutting isn't that bad. On the other hand, I can't do it when my blood sugar starts to crash. The valve replacement isn't that bad, and the only problem on the pulmonary edema case is that you can't do anything when you've got turbulence, as you only see that problem on a plane.

Great. Kyriaki on crack. Man, I'm not looking forward to the X missions.

Not a post!
