Apparently, clicking the 'login' button before Deepest Sender loads the usernames and passwords breaks it. Who'd have thought?

So! Talking about Planescape briefly earlier sent me over to get back into the Urban Planes stuff at planewalker.com. I've replyspammed the UP board, and I think I'm partly caught up now. For those who've never heard of it - something that's entirely likely - the Urban Planes project was an attempt to make a modern setting that looked, felt and acted like Planescape. Some of the people there rather suck, but most of the ones that have had much to do with it have stayed mostly true to the setting - which is unusual for an adaptation project like that.

Also, I need to reupload my Lady of Pain icon.

And for my own entertainment, I'm going to blend two memes together. So! Meme: You comment with a word that reminds you of me, then I reply with... *picks meme concept* something about you that I love or like or enjoy or experience in a miscellaneously positive way.

Well- Planescape, of course. It's what got me interested in reading you, and then the hilarity of your humour sucked me in permanently. I'm not even sure where I learned you were a Planescape gal. Someone on an f-list somewhere probably linked to you and I went 'cool username,' checked you out and saw Planescape on the interest list and was hooked.

There is a reference to the system contained subtly in that paragraph.

As for Urban Planescape, I've taken a look. I have vague ideas of one day writing an Urban Planescape about a PI in the cage which would be lots of fun. I prefer the traditional stuff (pre-Faction War, actually; I like the factions) for my gaming, though.

My journal is subtly hosted on a LiveJournal server somehow kept in Elysium? Or is it like the Mazes, with familiar usernames taking unfamilar turns?

UP's a work-in-progress. I'd like to see it get finished, and I'd like to see me be able to keep up my involvement, and I'd like to stop them from making boring, factual write-ups of things because that's not how Planescape works.

But! I like that you're all Planescapey. It means I get to spend long comment threads tossing about theories as to why the multiverse could be banana shaped, and have someone actually interested. And that? Wins. :D

Since 'Apathy' would be cheating...'squeeful'. It's a word.

(BTW, I've seen the first episode of a certain series - it's good. I don't know how close it is to the books yet, but it was tres enjoyable.)

I've been reading RTFs of the books for the last 3 days, and haven't seen the series yet.

The books are tres awesome.

It's supposed to start out a bit like the first book, but beyond that, I'm not sure how much it's supposed to follow them.

Not that it matters. The canon is flexible enough that the TV can't break it. :)

So! I like that, in drag, you're hotter than Paris Hilton the similarity of fandoms, and the crack that seems to spring from that. It amuses me near-endlessly.

I really should get around to playing Torment. Alas, I lack CD-Rs

The word of the day is

Torment is very good, and a bit lighter on the weird than tabletop Planescape.

And... you happily waste hours of your life on my unending oddness. That has to be good for something. :)

Well, Planescape is a mostly dead setting, plus it would be painfully hard to find someone who both has the books and the competence to run it properly.

And I'm not flying down to see you just for a good planescape game, alas.

So Torment is pretty much my only option at this point.

YOUR unending oddness? What about the hours you waste on MINE?

(I won't be around tonight though. Work in the morning)

With what? It's not like there's an unambiguous, unbiased test that can be used.

Very well. I enter into evidence my journal, including the bubbles-on-nose fiasco, the cow-and-Einstein 'this land' incident, and the basketporn.

I counter with my habit of going upwards of 5 days without eating - by virtue of forgetting that I haven't eaten, having had to unwrap some 5 tonnes of rotten past-date meat and dispose of it, and having a girlfriend beat me with a baseball bat because I tried to defend her in a fight.

I played Excite Truck and Trauma Center on the Wii while, in the same room, people were watching World of Whorecraft at the same time.

On Christmas Night.

Woo, I'm a stalker!
