That made me cry and I'm not a crier, as a rule. Just horrible. Such things should be defined as murder. I'm not morally opposed to hunting and eating animals, but pets are not Just Animals. Pets are family members. I say "hello" and "goodbye" and "outta my way, you brainless thing!" to my pets the same as to any of the human members of my family. I don't know if I can even imagine what it would be like to have one of them SHOT, for heaven's sake. It's hard enough when they die of old age or natural causes.
...*sniffle* Sorry. I'm going to be leaving my pets behind when I move to California and so it's a bit of a sniffly subject for me right now. Those poor, poor people...
There's a difference even there, since a hunted animal is generally a much cleaner kill. One of their beloved dogs staggered to the front door before dying, and that kind of treatment is unnaceptable for anything that lives.
And there's no need to be sorry. *e-hug* I couldn't imagine moving and leaving my dogs far, far behind.
