Most of you here, I've met by way of
metaquotes. It's a collective of laughter, a collective of squees; occasionally, it's a collective that stops for a moment to comment on something that's Just Not Right, or a collective that pauses to think about and ponder on something touching and deep. It's one of those places where you're pretty much sure that, whatever's wrong with the world, it'll be good for a laugh and a smile and making everything feel better for a bit.
Tonight,
metaquotes is a collective mourning the loss of its creator and moderator,
kielle, also known as
_redpanda_.
Like so many other LJers, I only knew her tangentially. There were occasional comment threads, and she got probably more of my icon love than anyone else. She seemed, to me, a fun and lively person; one who gave every indication of a life lived well, and one whose projects and spirit of fun have touched countless other lives.
