Here's the (not very) extraordinary tale of my night.
- 7:30pm: Leave home.
- 7:50pm: Arrive in city centre. Park in one-hour space. Inwardly debate chance of parking ticket.
- 8:00om: Search for food. Lament that largest pub in city centre closed on busiest night of year.
- 8:15pm: Settle on Subway, since it has only menu item I'll actually eat in city centre. Everything - literally everything - else has bits of things that once moved about all on their own.
- 8:25pm: Settle onto sofa in Starbucks to drink 5-shot coffee. Mmmm... caffeine.
- 8:45pm: Venture out into evening to get spot for early fireworks display.
- 9:00pm: Watch said display. Note main vantage point liable to be mortared with unexploded fireworks. Regret lack of purple; hope for crash in price of iridium.
- 9:20pm: Arrive at lamest casino in world. Settle in to lose money to roulette.
- 10:00pm: Surprisingly, break even. Leave to go elsewhere.
- 10:20pm: Arrive elsewhere.
- 10:25pm: Regret lack of band, losses on poker machines, and warm drink. Leave again.
- 10:45pm: Arrive somewhere else.
- 11:25pm: Win money, leave again.
- 11:45pm: Arrive in city again. Search for safe spot to watch iridium-free explosives.
- 12:30am: Find pub. Drink with conveniently located group of friends.
- 1:20am: Decide to leave while still legally able to drive home.
- 1:40am: Arrive home.
- 1:50am: Start writing LJ post about events.
- 2:15am: Click post button, close Deepest Sender.
