I'll fill in a bit of backstory. Last week, my parents called to ask me when I'm planning to go to see Sith. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Hello
Mother: Hello. When are you going to see star Wars?
Me: I don't actually plan to.
Mother: Why not?
Me: Look at his last two movies. Spectacular works of motion picture art, them.
Mother: Well... you're going.
Me: No I'm not.
Mother: Yes you are. I'm your mother, and if I say you're going to a movie, you're going to a movie. It's not healthy to not watch Star Wars.

And then, today, my dear, sweet mother calls again.

Mother: Hello.
Me: Hi.
Mother: Do you want to go to see Star Wars tonight?
Me: No, not really.
Mother: Well... you're going to. I said so.
Me: That's a shade expensive, don't you think? George's last two movies...
Mother: STFU n00b! w3 alr3dy g0t ur 71kk3t! *
Me: Oh, ok. Guess I'm seeing it then.
Mother: Good. Missing Star Wars is bad for you.

Somehow, I think my parents are a particularly obsessive fancouple, and they just want to take me along so that they can keep a few tattered shreds of self-respect. On the bright side, free movie.

* That never actually happened. I think I'd have died laughing if it did.

Indeed! (I don't see that working. They do know what I look like.)

Say you're going as Darth Vader. I'll go in costume ;)

But then there'll be the talking and the...

I think it's easier if I just watch the movie. There's a chance I might even like it.

Of course, I'll ridicule it either way.

You will like it! Just mentally add 'llama' to every sentance...

Don't go there. No more llamas today.

You have been added.

This is likely because you have far too much in common with me.

It should be noted that sharing interests with me is likely a sign of being 'not quite right'.

Feel free to return the favor, but be aware that I am very boring in my journal.

That is all.

w00! And I'm not that very interesting in here, so there's no need to feel horribly guilty about it.

Besides, you have our Mr Butcher friended. That scores many points. Waiting eagerly for the DFRPG?

I hadn't actually heard such a thing was in progress. Also, I added him after finding reference to his journal existing in reading your friends list. I hadn't previously known of it.

Actually, I think I knew about it at some point, and then forgot before I had a chance to do anything about it.

*laughs* I cheated and check Fred Hicks' list to see if he had a journal, and then friended it for the writing goodness.

I've also added you, for your sense of humour, our shared interests, and the plan to llama every fandom ever.

Whee! (and hello!)

Can we llama the Bible Fandom? (Here's a Jesus...)

Oh hell yes. Jesus Jesus God?

Possibly. It'd have to use a screencap of God from Holy Grail, though.

Well, yeah. That IS the real God... right?

No, she doesn't really look like that, but it'd make for a funnier icon.

Then again, handstand!Alanis would also make an entertaining icon-god.

Yes, but would you be able to get a picture that, even at 100x100, was clear enough that people could see it was her?

From: [identity profile] active-apathy.livejournal.com
There'd be two kinds of people - ones who'd recognise the picture anyway, or ones who haven't seen Dogma and thus wouldn't get the joke anyway.

Python!God would still work, though.

The alternative is an icon that uses both. Which of course means making it 'Here's a God, there's a God, and another little God, fuzzy God, funny God, God God Jesus.'

With Buddy Christ, no less.

That throws the song out. Why not just make two icons - that way, you get your choice of God.

This is true. And people should always be allowed their choice of God.

Absolutely! I know that I like the idea of being able to pick from Grumpy!Old!God and Alanis!God.
