Turn Coat

...!

I knew enough from not-quite-spoilery Internet comments, and having seen fiction before, ever, to know that it was going to happen. And then I still did not see it coming.
Today was fun. I went shopping, mostly to dispose of CD vouchers from xmas (nevermind the hordes of screaming kids who don't have to go to school for another 3 weeks).

I came home with sore feet and a book. I've come to a conclusion: Every time I walk into a bookstore, I should turn around and go to watch a movie. The movie costs me just as much, and lasts longer. The book was Storm Front, the first in the Dresden Files series, and was quite entertaining. I'd buy the rest, but books are expensive. At least this time I've found a fandom with an in-development RPG (based on FATE, no less).

I did, however, see a rare and endangered item in a 2nd-hand games shop: Torment-inna-box. My own copy is shamelessly bootlegged, pirated in a feat of piracy so utterly iconic of pirates that I nearly felt like saying 'Yarr'. I went, I saw, and I unleashed the awesome might of 'squee!' as only a fangirl can. Except the box was damaged. Quite significantly damaged, almost like the previous owner does not *know* Planescape, or found it somewhere in the deepest reaches of the Mortuary (like the portal to the Elemental Plane of Fire). Kinda figures. Only the heathens would sell their copies of Torment. Unfortunately, it wouldn't have worked to pretend to be the Lady of Pain - the flayings are illegal, the mazings just don't seem to work for some reason, and those blades look rather uncomfortable.

Needless to say, I chose not to buy. And my feet still hurt.
